Norilsk Nickel may up investment in Taimyr safety by 100 bln rbl

MOSCOW, Sep 29 (PRIME) -- Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel may raise investment in upgrades of power infrastructure in the Taimyr Peninsula by more than 100 billion rubles in 2020–2024 to ensure its maximum possible safety, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest producer of palladium and high-grade nickel, and also a large producer of platinum and copper, informs about its plans to expand its investment program aimed at upgrading the fuel and energy sector by more than 100 billion rubles in 2020–2024,” the company said.

The company launched the program to provide new growth projects with energy. The program’s additional focus is to raise industrial safety of all facilities, including the ones built on permafrost, the company said.
